New Video: Destructive Penguins High on The Low

Watch the video for High on The Low by 5-members Dutch band Destructive Penguins. High on the Low is the opening track of the band’s latest EP High/Low, released in February 2017.

Speaking of the song, Destructive Penguins’ singer Gijs Berger explains, “This track is about the struggle of being an artist. People see you on stage and think it’s all cool. And yes, I am privileged to be able to express myself in this way. I realize that and I’m thankful for it. I would love to make music all day, every day. But it’s also hard work to get gigs and keep going as a band. And the music industry is not always about the music, money is a controller here too. So that’s bad for inspiration! But hey, those complaints are the same for many of my hard working friends that work in restaurants or other places. It’s just about the struggle of life. You can be tops one moment and go down just a few moments later. High On The Low. See what I mean?”
That duality is the main focus of this song, with opposite words in the title and gloomy lyrics on a frenetic vivacious video.
